Privacy &
cookie policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit flyhma.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
Heavy Metal Air, LLC ("we", "us", "our") is a United States company operating the website at https://www.flyhma.com/ (the "Site"). This policy covers everyone who visits or contacts us through the Site, referred to below as "you".
If you have questions about this policy, or you want to know what information we hold about you, write to services@flyhma.com or call (914) 798-0826.
1. Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to send us. That is usually your name, email address, phone number, aircraft details such as make, model and tail number, and whatever you write in the message itself.
How our forms work
The contact, service request and application forms on this Site do not submit to a server. When you press send, the form opens a message in your own email program with the details filled in, and nothing is transmitted until you send it yourself. That means the information travels through your email provider and ours, and we receive it as an ordinary email. We do not store form submissions in a website database.
If you call us instead, we keep the ordinary records any maintenance shop keeps about work enquiries and customers.
2. Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, some information is recorded automatically, whether or not you contact us. This is necessary to run the Site, keep it secure, and understand how it is used.
Log and device data
- Internet protocol (IP) address
- Operating system and browser type
- Date and time of your visit
- Internet service provider
- Pages you viewed and the pages you arrived from and left to
Approximate location
Your approximate location may be derived from your IP address. This is region-level information used to understand where our visitors are; it is not precise device location, and we do not ask your browser for GPS position.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they move through the Site. Google places a cookie in your browser to recognise repeat visits. Google's own handling of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
3. How we use it
We use what we collect to:
- Answer your enquiry and quote, schedule or perform maintenance work
- Keep the records required of an FAA-certificated repair station and comply with other legal obligations
- Understand how the Site is used and improve it
- Keep the Site secure and detect misuse or fraud
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files your browser stores when you visit a site. They let a site recognise you between pages and visits so it does not have to ask for the same thing repeatedly. Cookies set by this Site cannot be read by other sites.
What we use
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to work at all, including security features
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics, as described in section 2
Most browsers accept cookies unless you change the setting, and you can delete them at any time. AllAboutCookies.org explains how, browser by browser. Blocking analytics cookies will not stop you using this Site.
5. Payments
We do not take payments through this Site. There is no cart, no checkout and no payment form, and we do not ask for or collect card numbers here. Invoicing and payment for maintenance work are handled separately, outside the Site.
Please do not send card details by email or through any form on this Site.
6. Job applicants
If you apply for a position through our careers page or by email, we collect what you send: your name and contact details, the certificates you hold, your work history, and your résumé.
We use it only to assess your application and to contact you about it. We keep applications on file for a reasonable period in case a suitable role opens up later. If you would rather we did not, tell us and we will delete it.
7. Links to other sites
This Site links to other websites — Google Maps, our social media pages, the FAA, and equipment manufacturers among them. We do not control how those sites collect or use data. Read their policies before giving them information.
8. How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide services to you, and afterwards where we are required to retain records by law or regulation, or where we need them to resolve a dispute or enforce an agreement. Maintenance and airworthiness records are subject to their own retention requirements, which we follow.
9. Security
We use physical, electronic and procedural measures designed to protect the information you share with us, and we monitor our systems for vulnerabilities.
Even so, no transmission over the internet, email or text message is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. Please avoid sending us — or anyone — sensitive information whose disclosure could cause you serious harm.
If you have a concern about the security of this Site, contact us at services@flyhma.com.
10. Your rights
You have rights over the information we hold about you. To use any of them, contact us using the details in section 14.
- Access — ask what personal information we hold about you
- Correction — have inaccurate information corrected or updated
- Deletion — ask us to erase information we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep
- Objection and withdrawal of consent — where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand
- Complaint — raise a complaint with the data protection authority where you live. We would rather you came to us first and gave us a chance to sort it out
Depending on where you live, additional rights may apply to you under state or national privacy law. Ask us and we will tell you what applies.
11. Scope
This policy applies only to the Site and to the services Heavy Metal Air, LLC offers. It does not cover services offered by other companies or individuals, including sites shown to you in search results or sites linked from ours.
This policy was originally prepared with the assistance of TermsHub.io.
12. Changes
This policy may change from time to time. We will post any changes on this page, and if a change is significant we may give more explicit notice.
13. Acceptance
By continuing to use this Site, you accept this policy as it stands. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Site.
